Most DJ studios in London are white boxes. Functional, but sterile. At @38, we don’t do white boxes. We provide a raw industrial space in Clapton, Hackney, built for DJs who need more than just a place to practice. Whether you are recording a high-end video set, testing a new hybrid setup, or hosting an intimate session, our space is designed where sound, vision, and light meet.
This is your guide to getting the most out of our professional setup.
The Setup. Our Stage.
You aren’t just hiring a room. You are hiring a broadcast-quality environment. Our DJ studio hire in London features a club-standard Pioneer setup that requires no introduction. If you’ve played in a major club in the last five years, you know this gear.
- Pioneer CDJ Multi-players: The industry standard. High-resolution screens, tactile controls, and rock-solid reliability.
- Professional Mixer: Precision EQ and high-quality effects to shape your sound.
- Turntables: For the purists. Our setup includes high-torque turntables for vinyl sessions or DVS integration.
- Monitor System: Full PA and monitor system so you hear exactly what the crowd: or your recording: will hear.

Preparation is Key.
Don't waste your booking time troubleshooting. To make the most of your session, come prepared.
Rekordbox & USBs
Our CDJs are built for Rekordbox. Before you arrive, ensure your tracks are analyzed.
- Format: Use FAT32. It’s the most stable format for Pioneer hardware.
- Analysis: Run your tracks through Rekordbox to set beatgrids, hot cues, and memory loops.
- Backups: Bring two USBs. Hardware happens. Always have a mirror of your library.
Hybrid Sets & Laptops
If you use a laptop or controller, the space is flexible. We have the connectivity for HID mode or external mixer routing. Bring your own USB-A to USB-B or USB-C cables. We provide the power and the signal flow.
Two Looks. One Booking.
The @38 aesthetic is defined by dark, nocturnal lighting and raw industrial surfaces. Unlike other studios where you need to bring a production crew just to make the room look decent, our space is "plug and play" for content.
The dark industrial aesthetic features deep, near-black backgrounds that allow our neon-inspired lighting to pop. If you are filming a set for YouTube or Instagram, the lighting is already set to create a sense of depth and mystery. We use volumetric, diffused light sources: purples, magentas, and cyans: that transition smoothly across the exposed brick.

Content Creation at @38
Many DJs use our space for more than just practice. They use it as a set.
- No set build required: The walls are the backdrop. Exposed brick, industrial pipes, and dark concrete.
- Dramatic Surfaces: High contrast lighting hits the textures, giving your video a high-production value without the high-production cost.
- 170-Person Capacity: If you want to film with a small crowd or host a launch, the space scales with you.
Full Exclusivity. No Other Bookings.
When you book a session at @38, the space is yours. There are no other sessions happening in the next room. No shared hallways. No interruptions.
We offer two main windows for bookings:
- Half Day (up to 4 hours): £175
- Full Day (up to 8 hours): £300
This pricing includes full access to the studio and the equipment. We believe in transparency: no hidden fees for "extra" gear that should be standard.
Mastering the Workflow
To get a professional result, especially if you are recording your mix, follow these steps:
1. Gain Staging
Don't redline. Our mixer has plenty of headroom. Keep your channel gains in the green and amber. This ensures your recording is clean and can be mastered later without distortion.
2. Monitoring
Use the booth monitors. They are positioned to give you an accurate representation of the mix. If you are recording a video set, you might want to keep the booth volume lower to avoid mic bleed if you are doing any live commentary, though most DJs prefer the full club feel.
3. Turntable Care
If you are using the decks, treat them with respect. Our needles are high-quality, but if you prefer your own cartridges (like Ortofon Concords), feel free to bring them. Just make sure to re-balance the tonearm before you drop the needle.
